I first discovered the angle of disappearance in the mid 1990’s when in the 

Hall of Mirrors at Versailles  (before it was reconstructed).

Two of the mirrors stood slightly ajar.

When I passed by I could see everything around me, but I wasn’t there.

I went back to the studio and experimented until I discerned the angle.

I made drawings through the years making reference to it and then in 2014,

I placed two mirrors at “the angle of disappearance” in my treehouse entryway—

It was then that I discovered the existing walls to be at the discerned angle.
